  • Freddies Brasserie Great food great service - I'm going back asap

    We went to Freddie's on a Monday night in October without a booking. My starter of smoked fish in sauce made me wish I'd ordered it for a starter. The main course was beautiful Cornish scallops on delicate black pudding with bacon lardons, sun dried tomatos and broad beans. It was the best meal I've had in the UK for several years. My dining companion had a delicate smoked salmon starter followed by the beef, which was considered "very good" although it didn't produce the Meg Ryan reaction I experienced. Dinner was so good I nearly didn't have a pudding in case it wasn't as good as previously. Luckily after twenty minutes I managed a piece of excellent New York style cheesecake with strawberries and a delicious toffee sauce. My companion had a dark rum creme brulee which was marvellous once he'd found the rum at the bottom. I am going back to Freddies the first chance I get. I am even bothering to write reviews about it, it was that good!
