I have been face painting for over twenty years, since my own children were young and willing models.
Since then I have face painted many hundreds of children (and adults) I feel very privileged to be doing a job that I absolutely love, and which gives me the chance to make children's imaginations run riot and their fantasy's to come true. I am a member of FACE (the face painting association) .
I have, over the years, painted all ages. from a 'bump' on an expectant mum's tummy to a 98 year old lady who had "always wanted to be a fairy princess" proving that you are never too old to have your face painted!
As well as face painting, I also offer temporary tattoos and funky hair. For horror fans I can provide realistic wounds, burns and bruises (more suitable for adults and the over sevens) and these are especially popular at Halloween.
I also offer training classes to those who wish to learn Face Painting from an award winning experienced painter.
Why not have a really individual experience at a very special time in your and your baby's life? I can create a unique painting on your pregnant tummy which will make a very special addition to your baby book or photo albums. Please see the Gestational Painting Gallery for examples. You may well have your own ideas which I would be delighted to work with or I can offer suggestions of designs that would work well.
I feel safety is of paramount importance, and therefore follow a strict code of practice regarding hygiene and only use safe, tested and approved products. I have £5,000,000 public liability insurance, and have been CRB checked. I also run Face painting training courses from my home in Harpenden, Herts, UK or can travel to you if you wish. Please see my Face painting courses page for more information.
I only ever use thoroughly tested and approved face painting products.
The face painting products I use are fully tested and compliant with all the safety regulations for cosmetic application. They are water based, and are from long- standing companies such as Kryolan, Grimas,Mehron, Fardel and Snazaroo among others. These paints are easily removed from skin with soap and water. If any gets onto clothing, they just need a warm wash in soapy water, or in rare instances, an overnight soak in Biotex or similar product will remove any stubborn stain.
Any glitters I use are polyester (not metallic) and especially produced for face painting, so are safe to use on the face. The temporary tattoos I use are not Henna based and therefore not permanent or likely to last longer than a week. Temporary Tattoos are waterproof in a bath or shower unless rubbed. They naturally fade over a week or so, but if you wish to remove them before they have faded, just use a wet soapy cloth to remove the top layer of glitter, and then rub gently with a little baby or olive oil to help remove the adhesive base.
