Selclean are great at taking your money but when there’s a problem their attitude is that they are just an agency and it’s an issue between you and the cleaner, it’s nothing to do with them. Terrible, terrible customer service. AVOID!!!

I moved into my property in April and used SelClene just before our housewarming party for a basic three hour clean. The lady who came was lovely and worked really hard - I worked alongside her so could see how much effort she was putting in. My kitchen and bathroom have never looked so clean since! It was lovely to have some of the work taken off my shoulders. I am now considering having them for a regular service

We had used Selclene on a weekly basis and then for a final end of tenancy clean service in February 2011. We left the house to allow for the end of tenancy clean. When we arrived at the house on the morning of the handoverwe found: Â· Dirty footprints all over the downstairs floors from the carpet cleaners Â· Dirty oven, microwave and fridge (these were major things) Â· Dirty kitchen drawers and shelves Â· Dust and dirt on all skirting boards Â· Unwiped doors On calling Selclene I spoke to a lady who instantly accused our estate agents of having closed the deadlock on the door so the cleaner could not get in. When we informed her the estate agents had not been near the property, she realised I was a different customer and instantly sought a new excuse as to why we, as the customers, were in the wrong. Apparently our house was a tip and had not been cleaned in a long time. This is ironic as for the last year we had been paying Selclene for a weekly cleaning service!!!!! In 3 hours a week our weekly cleaner successfully cleaned the house, including the furniture, and did ironing. The end of tenancy cleaner only managed a very superficial clean in 6 hours in a nearly empty house. I was passed between two Selclene employees like it was a relay conversation, each of them taking it in turns to infer that we were lying and it was our fault. They were not only rude but abusive and arrogant. Fortunately when I made my call of complaint to Selclene in St Albans I had them on loud speaker and the inventory clerk was with us. She was so appalled at how they handled us, in particular because she could see what a poor job was done, that they did not charge us for the clean to do done properly. I can not recommend strongly enough not to use this company. They take no accountability for when things go wrong and actually seek to blame the customer.

When we arrived at the house following a tenancy clean on the morning of the handoverwe found it in a state. we called and the women in the office passed the phone around,takng it in turns to tell us why it was our fault. Fortuntately we had them on loud speaker and the inventory clerk could not only see how dirty the house was but also the way the women handled us. The women were rude and arrogant and I would recommend working with a cleaner direct than through them.
